AISIX is an open-source AI gateway built in Rust by API7, the team behind Apache APISIX. It puts one OpenAI-compatible API in front of more than 100 model providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Groq and Cohere, plus AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI and Vertex AI. An Anthropic-compatible /v1/messages endpoint is available alongside the OpenAI surface.
The gateway handles routing and failover, org-wide budgets and rate limits, guardrails, response caching, centralised key management and per-call logging. Virtual models let one model name fan out across providers and regions.
The core is Apache-2.0 and self-hostable. A managed cloud adds a console for requests, latency, errors and spend.
