AG2

AG2 is the community fork of Microsoft's original AutoGen 0.2, maintained by contributors from Meta, IBM, Google, and Penn State. It preserves the familiar AutoGen API (AssistantAgent, UserProxyAgent, GroupChat) while Microsoft rewrote AutoGen as version 0.4 with breaking changes. AG2 supports multi-agent conversations, swarm orchestration, CaptainAgent for automatic team assembly, RAG, code execution, and structured outputs. It interoperates with Google ADK, OpenAI Agents SDK, and LangChain agents via A2A and MCP protocols.
